Abstract: In order to explore land consolidation by machinery and then to promote the development of mechanization，solve ‘the last mile’ problem of site condition of large and medium agricultural machinery in hilly and mountainous areas，improve working condition and increase operating efficiency of agricultural machinery in hilly and mountainous areas，Chongqing agricultural sector carried out land consolidation suitable for mechanization since 2014 and it had a good outcome.The whole working process of land consolidation suitable for mechanization of Chongqing city was introduced，including source of ideas，experimental exploration，standard formation，popularization and application，and its promoting effect，which could provide theoretical and technical support for the development of agricultural mechanization in whole southern hilly and mountainous areas.
