Abstract: Lincang city of Yunnan province was selected as the research area.The Tiff remote sensing images synthesized by MODIS China vegetation index from 2001 to 2015 were used.The images were subdivided and statistically analyzed by arcgis software.By analyzing the monthly，seasonal and annual changes of the vegetation normalization index，the variation trend of vegetation cover in Lincang city was obtained.Then，by comparing digital elevation image and night light index in the study area，it was found that the distribution of vegetation in Lincang city has certain distribution rules.Based on the regional statistics of Lincang city，the normalized vegetation index of each district and county was obtained，and the correlation analysis was made with industrial and social conditions.
