Application of Plasma Activated Water in Seed Sowing Pretreatment

Seed sowing pretreatment is essential for agriculture, including seed dormancy breaking, disease sanitation, and plant growth promotion．As an emerging physical seed treatment technology, plasma-activated water seed treatment has gathered increasing attention for its advantages of simple operation and batch processing solution．PAW is rich in species with superior biological activity, facilitating seed germination and inactivating microorganisms on seed surface．Therefore, PAW seed pretreatment technology is promising to be put into large-scale practice as an environment-friendly technology in the future．On basis of expounding principle of plasma seed treatment technology, mechanism of liquid phase plasma discharge, PAW production system and storage mode was summarized, mechanism of PAW in promoting germination and surface disinfection was discussed, advantages and limitations of PAW in agricultural production were summarized．It aims to provide reference for application and promotion of PAW seed treatment．
