Feasibility Study of Applying Mechanized Cultivation Mode to Tomato Product in Chinese Solar Greenhouse of Shanxi Province

  • To investigate feasibility of applying mechanized cultivation mode to tomato product in Chinese solar greenhouses of Shanxi Province, a mechanized cultivation mode was developed to replace labor-intensive manual tasks involved in traditional product method.Under mechanized cultivation mode, mechanization level of solar greenhouses was increased from 38.5% to 73.3%.Labor consumption was saved by 113.10 working-day/hm2.The change in net present value was calculated as 29281 yuan/hm2.These findings demonstrated that it was feasible to apply mechanized cultivation mode to tomato product in solar greenhouses of Shanxi Province.Moreover, this mode could offer a potential solution to challenges arising from increased labor shortage and costs in future.
