Research Progress on Water and Fertilizer Coupling of Eggplant

  • In agricultural production, water and fertilizer are two essential elements.Water and fertilizer coupling organically combines water and fertilizer, and achieves goal of high yield and high quality of crops through their synergistic effect.Based on analysis of current situation of water resources shortage and unreasonable fertilizer application, development process, definition and irrigation mode of water and fertilizer coupling were reviewed, and research progress of effects of water and fertilizer coupling on eggplant growth morphology, photosynthetic characteristics, yield and quality were elaborated, which indicated that water and fertilizer coupling was an effective measure to save water and fertilizer resources, reduce environmental pollution, and achieve high-efficiency and high-quality yield of eggplant.Exploring coupling mechanism of water and fertilizer for eggplant, constructing a multi-factor coupling model of water and fertilizer, and seeking the best ratio of water and fertilizer to achieve precise irrigation could provide reference for guiding rational management of water and fertilizer for eggplant and making it grow efficiently and with high quality.
