Prospects of High Temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cells as Renewable Energy Solutions to Modern Facility Agriculture

  • High temperature solid oxide fuel cells(SOFC)is one of efficient energy conversion technologies, and is also a technology which can simultaneously provide electricity, heat and CO2 gas fertilizer to meet energy requirement of facility agriculture.Herein, based on characteristics of modern facility energy requirement and SOFC cogeneration, feasibility and broad application prospects of coupling SOFC energy technology and facility agriculture systems were expounded in details.Stable, reliable and low cost SOFC systems can fundamentally solve serious problems of high energy cost, low thermal efficiency and environmental pollution of China's agriculture greenhouse technologies, and at the same time provide a huge market for SOFC industry.
