Regional comparative advantages of major livestock breeds in Shandong Province

Main livestock statistical data from Shandong Provincial Statistical Yearbook from 2011 to 2020 was utilized, with resource endowment coefficient and theory of comparative advantage, advantageous regions of livestock farming was analyzed, to provide a reference for optimal layout of livestock industry in Shandong Province．Results showed that cities with the highest stock and resource endowment coefficient for beef cattle, sheep, egg poultry, and meat poultry in Shandong Province were Dezhou, Weifang, and Heze．The highest stock of pigs and dairy cows cities were Linyi and Jinan, while with the highest resource endowment coefficient cities were Heze and Tai'an．
