Design and experiment on shovel-lifting device of Dioscorea opposita excavator

Abstract
Aiming at problems of low harvesting efficiency and high damage rate in Dioscorea opposita cultivation, a suspended Dioscorea opposita excavator has been designed.A systematic study was conducted on primary working component of Dioscorea opposita excavator, shovel-lifting device, to determin key parameters such as blade spread angle, shovel width, and conveying length of lifting mechanism.Finite element analysis software ANSYS was employed to perform strength and strain verification on connecting arm.The maximum stress, maximum deformation, and deformation locations were identified for shovel-lifting device during Dioscorea opposita excavator operation.Field experiment has shown that structure design of Dioscorea opposita excavator's shovel-lifting device was reasonable and performs well.Its productivity reached 20 to 30 times that of artificial harvesting, with a Dioscorea opposita damage rate of 11.638 %, which meets requirements for efficient harvesting and low damage.
