Current status of corn dense planting technology and strategies for integration of agricultural machinery and agronomy

  • Corn dense planting is an effective cultivation method for increasing corn yields and has been widely applied overseas.Some breakthroughs have been achieved in China regarding corn variety breeding and supporting cultivation technologies.However, in practical application, it still faces technical bottlenecks such as large soil differences, insufficient variety adaptability, low precision in intelligent control of precision seeding, inadequate accuracy in water and fertilizer management, and difficulties in preventing and controlling pest and disease.A systematical exposition of specific requirements for corn dense planting technology regarding soil conditions, variety selection, agricultural machinery, and field management has been provided.Suitable cultivation models and countermeasures and suggestions for corn dense planting have been proposed, which not only help improve corn quality and yield in China, but also lay a theoretical foundation for large-scale promotion and application of corn dense planting technology.
