Time configuration and cost-saving analysis of supplemental light in solar greenhouses under time-of-use electricity price mechanism

  • To address issue of high operational costs for winter supplemental light in solar greenhouses, time-of-use electricity price mechanism was utilized to propose a time configuration scheme for supplemental lighting.An edge-cloud collaborative control system was developed for environmental monitoring and control strategy integration.A 600 m2 solar greenhouse was taken as study object, and a dynamic thermal environment model was established for 72 h simulation analysis of three control strategies: baseline, peak-valley priority, and compromise.Results has showed that when maintaining an indoor temperature between 12 to 28 °C and providing 4 h of supplemental light per day, peak-valley priority and compromise strategies reduced electricity cost by 37.4% and 18.6%, respectively, compared to baseline strategy.These findings provide a reference for time configuration and economical operation of supplemental light in solar greenhouses.
