The Analysis of the Insurance Companies’ Positive Role in Health Care Institution Investment to Protect the Health Rights of Peasants

  • China is a large agricultural country, having over 900 million peasants, whose health rights should be paid great attention to. But at present there are several problems of China's New Rural Cooperative Medical System(CMS) ,which can not fully satisfied the health demands of the peasants. The Commercial insurance especially commercial health insurance can serve as a useful complement to the new rural CMS, reducing the heavy burden of medical expenses of peasants. Commercial health insurance companies can directly invest in or hold shares of the rural medical institutions, which can effectively help the peasants to avoid unfairness of medical services, sustain the income increase, improve their living standards, and promote the development of Chinese managed care in rural area. So as to meet the health demands of the peasants much better.
