The Survey Results about the Number of Cotton Plant Bug Using UNIVAC Portable Suction Insects Sampling System

In order to check the survey effect about the number of cotton plant bug using UNIVAC portable suction insects sampling system，we made a test in Dafeng City，Jiangsu Province in 2010 ，during the occuring of the first generation and the second generation 4、5 age nymph in broad beans （ Vicia faba L.） fields and TongHao（Chrysanthemum coronarium L.） fields.The results show the insect number using insects sampling system is higher or equal to the number using conventional shoot，and this way we get different age nymph and adult of cotton plant bug，but it damaged 1～4 age nymphs.Therefore，we suggest that we use the insects sampling system after 3 age nymph peak as far as possible；Sampling unit adopt 1m2 suction each point in the broad bean field，0.25m2 suction each point in TongHao field ，and we should try to pump plant upper （head or bloom）；Shorten the suction time so that to reduce the damage to the worm body that caused by long operation and the equipment shake.Also we give some suggestions to improve the equipment.
