Development of Gardenia and Hawthorn Health Drink

  • Gardenia and hawthorn,which were medicinal and edible,were used as the main raw material.Gardenia and hawthorn mass ratio was 2∶3 for compatibility according to prescription diet.After extraction,distillation,blending and sterilization process,a orange red was prepared,which was clear and transparent,sweet and sour taste of functional health drink that contains the unique flavor of gardenia and hawthorn as well as lipid-lowering and antihypertensive functions.With an average score of sensory evaluation by orthogonal experiments,the best formula of product was get,gardenia extract and hawthorn extract mixture of 99.39%,aspartame of 0.5%,citric acid of 0.02%,CMC-Na of 0.09%.pH value of the mixture according to the deployment were 3.53,the condition of sterilization process as 85 ℃,10 min by test was more reasonable.Content of flavonoids was 146.4 mg100 mL,polysaccharide content 301.1 mg100 mL,soluble solids content of 3.3%,pH value of 3.52 by test the finished product.
