Intention and Behavior of Safe Breeding:A Perspective of Jilin Small Pig Farmers

  • Pig farmers are still small scaled,so it is particularly important and urgent to study their intention and behavior of safe breeding.104 pig farmers were surveyed and the data based on the binary logistic regression model was analyzed.Current study revealed that the total amount of live pig per year, the ratio of breeding income to the total income, whether participating in breeding training, perception on safe breeding of parent pig and perception on hygiene of pig house were key factors influenced intention of safe breeding, and that intention of safe breeding, perception on safe breeding of parent pig and perception on hygiene of pig house were key factors influenced behavior of safe breeding.Based on above findings, countermeasures were proposed to improve intention and behavior of small pig farmers. The study could be used as a reference to relative agencies such as agriculture, animal husbandry and veterinary administrative department.
