Engineering and Technology of Optoelectronic Agriculture:A New Comprehensive and Interdisciplinary Research Subject

  • The concept of optoelectronic agriculture was proposed and defined. Four main research fields in the area of optoelectronic agriculture were proposed,which included light regulation technology for plants,light controlling technology for plant growth,optoelectronic engineering in the livestock and fishery sectors,and plant factories and agricultural internet of things.In addition,a series of recent advances in this area made by the Centre of Excellence for Research in Optoelectronic Agriculture at Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University were introduced. It pointed out that advances of optoelectronic agriculture would contribute to the development of modern agriculture and help to address the challenges faced by it.It also provided experimental and technological support for the development of modern agriculture and the practical and marketable products and technologies for the exchange and promotion of modern agricultural technologies.
