Remote Monitoring System of Soil Moisture Based on GPRS

Remote soil moisture monitoring system based on GPRS（General Packet Radio Service）was designed to achieve real-time soil moisture content information and provide data for drought prediction and agricultural irrigation.It could be charged by solar panels.STC12C5A60S2 microcontroller was used as core controller in this system，and soil moisture data was sent through GPRS wireless transmission network.Through development and design of upper computer software，the system could carry out real-time monitoring of soil moisture content information from a plurality of terminal nodes.Results showed that the system had well stable performance，met design requirements and could provide reliable basis for agricultural irrigation.
