Low-temperature Drying Methods and Their Application in Agricultural Engineering

  • In the agricultural engineering,low-temperature drying has characteristics of retaining material quality and saving energy.High-temperature drying has advantages of fast drying speed and short processing cycle.Some low-temperature drying methods commonly used in agricultural engineering have been discussed,such as low-temperature vacuum drying,low-temperature heat pump drying,low-temperature dehumidification drying,microwave low-temperature vacuum dehydration and so on.Their basic work principle was introduced.Application of low-temperature drying in agricultural engineering was summarized,like application in food,fruits,vegetables,wood,Chinese herbal medicine,cereals,etc.Development trend and prospect of low-temperature drying have also been discussed.
