Practice and Research of Machining Shaft Parts of Crawler Tractor Using Turning instead of Grinding

Processing technology and accuracy requirements of shaft parts of crawler tractor were analyzed.Feasibility and applicability of processing mode that using turning instead of grinding was determined.Promotion economy of the scheme was verified.Verification processing of several types of shaft parts was carried out by CNC machine tools with better accuracy.By comparing different metal material，heat treatment mode，external surface hardness，shape characteristic and processing mode of shaft parts，selecting different kinds of machined cutting tools，inserts，and corresponding cutting parameters，so as to determine a kind of processing technology that could meet the needs of product process and was simple and feasible.And this process was extended to other types of parts processing gradually.Finally，quality of crawler tractor was improved and process of parts was improved.
