Effect of Exogenous Trehalose on Root Growth of Lettuce

The effects of different concentrations of trehalose on the growth of lettuce roots were analyzed.Results showed that with increase of trehalose concentration，root vitality，root surface area，volume，root tip number，auxin and cytokinin all increased first and then decreased，and total root length and gibberellin showed a gradual decrease.The optimum concentration of trehalose to promote growth of lettuce roots was 15 mmol/L.
