Spatial and Temporal Variation Characteristics of Cultivated Land and its Driving Factors in Huai′an City

  • Huai′an City is located in Huanghuai Plain and Jianghuai Plain,which is a big agricultural city in the north of Jiangsu province.The study on spatial and temporal characteristics of cultivated land and its driving factors can provide guidance for ensuring food production and agricultural sustainable development.Based on land use data of 2000,2010 and 2018,spatiotemporal change characteristics of cultivated land in Huai′an City from 2000 to 2018 were analyzed by integrating land use transfer matrix,land use dynamic degree and multiple stepwise regression analysis,and driving forces were studied combined with social and economic indicators.Decreasing speed of cultivated land area has been accelerating from 2000 to 2018.Reduced area of cultivated land was mainly concentrated in the northern part of Qingjiangpu district,and transfer area between cultivated land and urban and rural industrial and mining residential land was more.Change of cultivated land was affected by economic development and income level,and tertiary industry was core driving force of cultivated land change.While developing economy,Huai′an city should pay more attention to protection of cultivated land resources,strengthen land consolidation,improve efficiency of land use,optimize utilization and allocation of land resources,and ensure sustainable utilization of cultivated land resources.
