Static Analysis of Three-dimensional Gear Contact Based on Finite Element Analysis

  • Static analysis of cylindrical contact and gear contact was carried out mainly based on finite element method.In order to analyze distribution of contact stress more accurately and efficiently,influence of meshwork type and tangential stress on contact stress was mainly considered.Three-dimensional modeling of cylinders and gears was carried out in Solidworks,and then the built three-dimensional model was imported into ANSYS Workbench in an appropriate format for mesh division,and reasonable constraint processing was applied according to requirements,and its solver based on finite element theory was used for calculation and solution.Stress distribution diagram of model under specific load was obtained.Using Hertz contact theory value and gear contact stress theory value,finite element analysis of cylindrical contact and gear contact results were compared,error and accuracy of analysis results were obtained.Analysis results showed that,meshwork type would affect analysis efficiency,and surface tangential stress would affect stress distribution in contact analysis,which made contact analysis results more accurate and improved efficiency of related workers.
