Abstract: To respond to national requirements for talent training in universities and cultivate water conservancy people in new era with spirit of "loyalty, cleanliness, responsibility, science, truth-seeking, innovation", course of ideology and politics were integrated into "Hydraulic Engineering Introduction" course for teaching design from five aspects, that was, teaching goal setting, teaching team construction, teaching content design, teaching method improvement and teaching evaluation．It could provide a reference for teaching design of integration of ideological and political courses and professional courses in new engineering specialty．
