Abstract: Contradiction between supply and demand of water resources has always been an important issue troubling economic development of Gansu Province, moreover, due to waste of water resources and groundwater over-exploitation, etc．resulting in a shortage of freshwater resources, coupled with deteriorating water quality, it is gradually put on agenda to develop and utilise unconventional water resources．In order to gain a deep understanding of current situation and level of agricultural use of non-conventional water resources in Gansu Province, and to better carry out provision of a stable supplementary water source for agricultural irrigation, on the basis of research on agricultural use of unconventional water resources in different regions at home and abroad and in the province, current situation and development and use patterns of unconventional water resources in agricultural development and use in Gansu Province were discussed, main problems in agricultural use of unconventional water resources in different regions were summarised, and corresponding countermeasures and suggestions were put forward．
