Abstract: In order to improve quality of graduation design, which was a crucial part of talent cultivation process, method of TRIZ theory to explore students' potential was proposed．A fusion path of TRIZ theory and graduation design was established, in which the key step was to use conflict resolution methods to propose technical solutions throughout the entire process．Taking design of precision press machine in cold stamping process as an example, process of resolving physical conflicts and handling technical conflicts were elaborated in detail．Results of practice showed that applying conflict resolution methods could help students quickly find breakthroughs in problems．When combined with professional knowledge, it could form an ideal technical solution．TRIZ theory has a good prospect for promotion in graduation design．
