Abstract: Ganoderma lucidum is a kind of large medicinal and edible homologous fungi rich in polysaccharides, triterpenoids and other medicinal ingredients．As China's large health industry has entered stage of high-quality development, Ganoderma lucidum industry has made considerable development and broad prospects, and its market has also put forward higher requirements for quality and output of Ganoderma lucidum．It is of great significance to breed and apply excellent new varieties of Ganoderma lucidum with excellent quality, high yield, strong stress resistance, wide adaptability, easy management and genetic stability．Application and research progress of different breeding techniques to improve performance of Ganoderma lucidum in recent years were reviewed, in order to provide reference for future genetic breeding and promote sustainable and healthy development of Ganoderma lucidum industry．
