Abstract: Cultivation of compound applied talents is an important part of higher agricultural and forestry education．Based on background of construction of emerging agricultural education, taking Calculation Method course of Gansu Agricultural University as an example, four problems in current education and teaching process were analyzed, such as shortage of theoretical class hours, weakness of students' basic knowledge, lack of engineering background of practical content, and lack of ideological and political integration．Based on actual teaching situation of Gansu Agricultural University, methods to solve problems in education and teaching were explored, and specific strategies to solve these problems were put forward．It is expected to further improve teaching quality and provide reference for course construction and teaching reform of Calculation Method course．
