Abstract:
A new path for effective transformation of food science research achievements into experimental teaching was explored, and experimental teaching was innovated from perspective of integration of science and education.Process of transformation and integration mainly included four steps: determining principles for selecting scientific research achievements, identifying transformation achievements and setting objectives; determining transformation content and refining transformation process; offering experimental classes and optimizing homework design; assessing teaching effectiveness and improving quality based on student feedback.Taking new undergraduate major of food nutrition and health at School of Food Science, South China University of Technology as an example, relying on school's high-quality scientific research resources and experimental conditions, multiple innovative experimental courses integrating science and education were offered.Practice of teaching reform showed that feedback on teaching was good and students' recognition was popular.Transformation of scientific research into experimental teaching, as well as integration of science and education, could not only update and expand experimental content, and optimize innovative experimental teaching models, but also help improve students' scientific research ability, innovation potentials, and practical skills.
