Abstract: To objectively and scientifically estimate important role of plant protection measures in ensuring summer maize safe production, a series summer maize disease pests and weeds control experiments were conducted in 2024 in southwestern Shandong Province, to estimate integrated control of pest and contribution rate of plant protection．Experiments were set up with strict integrated control area, unified control area, farmers' experience-based control area, and blank control area．After field investigation, prevention and estimation, and experimental yield measurement, contribution rate of plant protection on summer maize diseases, insect pests, and weeds（excluding rodent pests）prevention and control in southwestern Shandong Province was calculated to be 27.09% in 2024．A valuable reference for future work to ensure safe production and quality improvement and efficiency of summer maize in southwestern Shandong Province was provided．
