Abstract: Smart agriculture is a new agricultural model that utilizes modern information technology, sensor technology, big data analysis, and other means to provide intelligent and efficient solutions for agricultural production．It is particularly important to promote and popularize smart agriculture．Thoughts were proposed from three aspects: content covered by smart agriculture, improvement of production efficiency by intelligent agricultural machinery and equipment, and application of modern information technology in management of smart agriculture．Taking lecture hall of Xizang Agriculture and Animal Husbandry College on science popularization of smart agriculture as an example, combined with examples of smart planting and smart breeding, extensive application of smart agriculture was introduced, and development prospect of smart agriculture was looked forward．Promotion and application of smart agriculture could provide support for modernization of agriculture and animal husbandry in Xizang, and promote rural revitalization and sustainable agricultural development．
