Abstract: Entomopathogenic fungi is a type of critical biological resource for biological control, becoming increasingly vital role in integrated pest management strategies．Scale insects stand out as significant pests in agriculture and forestry, consistently attracting attention in biological control research．A review was made from four aspects: species of entomopathogenic fungi, pathogenic mechanisms, pathogenicity, and current research status of entomopathogenic fungi in controlling scale insects．Aiming to clarity fundamental aspects of using entomopathogenic fungi to control scale insects in China, and to facilitate future research endeavors．
