Abstract:
Field anti-seepage measures are crucial to construction quality and cost of newly reclaimed paddy fields. To explore suitable field anti-seepage measures and save investment, a typical plot was selected as an experimental site in project area of Taiji Town, Funan County, Fuyang City, Anhui Province.Various measures were applied to this site, including mechanical compaction, addition of ammonium bicarbonate or anti-seepage agents for treatment, followed by comparative studies on water retention.Experimental results showed that mechanical compaction could effectively reduce water infiltration rate. When compaction degree reached 81%, followed by three times of water harrowing treatment, it could meet anti-seepage standard for newly reclaimed paddy fields.Compared with anti-seepage layer with 88% compaction, this treatment could avoid unnecessary construction inputs and optimize costs.Additionally, method of reducing field water infiltration rates by adding ammonium bicarbonate or anti-seepage agents could largely meet anti-seepage requirements of newly reclaimed paddy fields while significantly reducing investment costs. It could provide reference and guidance for field anti-seepage measures in construction of new paddy fields in other regions.
