Abstract: China's sustained economic growth has driven a steady improvement in living standards, leading to significant changes in dietary structures．In recent years, per capita grain consumption has shown a downward trend, while proportion of meat, eggs and dairy products in diet has gradually increased．Silage provides rich nutritional guarantee for livestock such as cattle and sheep used in meat, eggs, and dairy products．Silage harvesters are main equipment for silage harvesting, and its technological development provides strong support for animal husbandry．China's silage harvester technology started late．Compared to foreign technology, it is not yet fully mature, and supporting system remains incomplete．Research status of silage harvesters header components both domestically and internationally was highlighted．By comparing header structures and related technologies worldwide, a machine model suitable for China's development direction was proposed, to provide opinions and suggestions for high-quality development of silage harvesters headers in China．
