Abstract:
With increasing demand for high-quality vegetable oils in China, twin-screw oil press have gained widely applied in grain and oil processing industry due to its advantages such as wide range of oilseed processing, good forward conveying characteristics, high oil extraction rates, and high cake quality. It has been applied extensively in gain and oil processing, particularly playing a vital role in oil seeds mechnical pressing, including soybeans, rapeseed, and peanuts. However, there are still issues with low efficiency, high energy consumption, and high residual oil content in dry cake during high-oil-content seeds' mechanical processing. To address these challenges, an improved structural design for a twin-screw press for high-oil-content seed was proposed based on SLZ10 oil press. To enhance forward conveying ability of feeding section screw and increase initial pressure during pre-pressing, two screws adopt a partially intermeshing structure with open longitudinal and closed transverse sections. This structure effectively prevented backflow or rotation of oil seeds along shaft caused by back pressure at end of feeding section during transportation. This facilitates rapid build up of pressure within pressing chamber during initial pressing stage, thereby improving production capacity. In main pressing section, screw press adopted a non-intermeshing design with open channels both longitudinally and transversely. This extended retention time of oil seeds in pressing chamber, thus enhancing oil extraction rate.Additionally, six pressure-enhancing conical rings installed between pressing screws in main section, enabling a five-levels compression and relaxation pressing for oil seeds along with thin layers' efficient pressing, further improving oil extraction rate.Study showed that designed oil press effectively improved high-oil-content seeds pressing efficiency, with an average daily processing capacity exceeding 12 tons and a cake residual oil rate ranging from 6% to 8%, demonstrating a promising application prospects.
