Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to find the basic theoretical issue of the similarities and differences of the farmland damaged by the earthquake and mining. And this work can help people do the farmland consolidation more successfully. Methods of field survey, literature analysis and comparison were employed in the paper. The study results show that there exist similarities and differences of the farmland damaged by the earthquake and mining in the damage reason, mechanism, scale, type and land consolidation ideas. And the theory and methods of the farmland reclamation in mining area can be very useful for us to do the farmland consolidation in earthquake-stricken area.
