Abstract: The computer technology plays a very important role in the transform of traditional agriculture which relies on experience into modern agriculture which relies on science in the tillage，management，planning and decision.Application of computer image processing and machine vision technology in seed quality checking，seed counting，detection and classification of agricultural products，monitoring crop growth and agricultural machinery，agricultural robot were summarized.Application of computer technology in watersaving irrigation，livestock production and food safety were introduced.If cloud computing was used for agricultural engineering，it would be essential for solving some problems such as highly fragmented agricultural，smallscale production and great spacetime variability etc.So we must speed up to promote its research and technological practice.
