Abstract: Expressway monitoring system is increasingly becoming an important means and playing an important role in the daily operation and management of expressway.It monitors the operating conditions of the way by road monitoring cameras which are always called video image acquisition devices.Based on performance requirements of the cameras，expressway monitoring requirements，and some factors about selecting monitoring cameras were elaborated.
