Abstract: Electrolyzed water is generated through electrolysis of dilute salt solution or hydrochloric acid in an electric field.It is characterized in two types，acidic electrolyzed water and alkaline electrolyzed water，by the electrolysis extent.Acidic electrolyzed water was reported to exhibit strong antibacterial activity against many pathogens with instant，a high effectiveness，safety，and no chemical residues.The principle of producing electrolyzed water and sterilization mechanism of acidic electrolyzed water were discussed in the paper.The research and application of acidic electrolyzed water sterilization technology in planting，breeding industry and the processing industry of agricultural products were also reviewed.And the future development of the technology was put forward on these bases.
