Abstract: Since medium term of 20th century，occurrence and damages of Sesamia inferens Walker were increasing year by year in the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River in China.And Sesamia inferens Walker had become one of major pest in rice field，occurrence and damages of Sesamia inferens Walker pest were likely to match or exceed other insect pest in part of rice field.Population dynamics，harmful levels，occurrence regularity，biological characteristics，control and forecast technique，and so on were summarized based on occurrence and control situation in recent years.
