Abstract: Comprehensive benefit which was brought by flood detention reservoir of Xinghai Lake was a breakthrough point. Important role of flood detention reservoir of Xinghai Lake in urban flood control and remarkable results which has been achieved in comprehensive utilization of flood were intensively studied.Successful experiences and shortcomings were summed up.Science road of urban construction and comprehensive utilization of water resources was searched.
