Abstract: Under natural conditions of hot dry and without irrigation in Jianshui county of Yunnan province，comparative test of 13 Medicago sativa varieties was carried out.Results of phenology observation and determination of grass yield showed that adaptability was strong and grass yield was high for 3 varieties included Maximus，Lierenhe and IS-1085.
