Abstract: With an analysis of purpose and meaning of machine tool NC technology curriculum，some problems and causes existing in teaching were discussed，such as neglecting basic knowledge of NC machining，backwards of teaching methods，old-fashioned teaching contents，conditions and so on.Teaching thought was put forward based on‘regarding students as the main body，regarding teacher as the leading’，some concrete methods and suggestions were proposed from updating teaching contents，teaching measures，teaching methods and so on.Through operation of these measures，students′ enthusiasm for learning had been stimulated，and transformation of‘want me to learn’to‘I want to learn’had been realized，in addition to，combination of‘teaching’and‘learning’has been achieved.
