Abstract: Biotechnology is a new method in modern forest pest control，and its development speed is also fastest.Compared with chemical control，biological control not only has high efficiency in killing insects，but also could effectively prevent and control pests and produce drug resistance.At the same time，it would not damage original ecosystem.Application of biotechnology in prevention and control of forest diseases and insect pests was discussed in terms of microbial agents，biological natural enemies，biological lights，pathogen preservation and gene transfer.
