Abstract: In order to understand development status of patents in agricultural field in Gansu province in the past ten years，using incopat patent database as a data source，situation of agricultural patents in Gansu Province in recent 10 years was statistically analyzed from perspectives of patent application volume，current legal status and effectiveness，main applicants and patent technology.Results showed that the number of patent applications in the agricultural sector in Gansu Province has been on the rise in the past ten years，and the number of patent applications has increased rapidly since 2017；proportion of effective authorized patents was not high；scientific and technological innovation capabilities of enterprises were relatively strong，and universities and research institutes were the most patent application agency；research was mainly concentrated on crop sowing，fertilization，irrigation，agricultural machinery，etc.
