Abstract: In response to problems of low efficiency, poor effectiveness, and low stripping rate in small single, double drum reverse pulling and multi drum direct feeding ramie stripping machines currently used in production, a ramie continuous stripping machine integrating multiple stripping processes such as pressing, scraping, beating, clamping, pulling, and combing has been designed and developed．Structure and working principle of entire machine were briefly described, and structural design and parameter selection of transmission system and main working components were carried out．Results showed that installed power was 5.5 kW, production rate was 301.7 kg/h（fresh skin）, and stripping rate was 96.8%．Length of fresh ramie stem that can be peeled was more than 800 mm（leaf removed）．This machine could achieve continuous hemp stripping, with high efficiency, good effect, high stripping rate, labor-saving and safe operation, suitable for ramie growers and cooperatives to use．
