Abstract: Accelerating whole process mechanized development of rice in hilly and mountainous areas and improving rice production capacity is of great significance for promoting stable and increased rice yield and farmers' income in hilly and mountainous areas and helping rural revitalization．Current situation of rice whole process mechanized production in Hunan Province was introduced, and machinery and tools of ploughing, planting, field management and harvesting links with examples were analyzed, so as to identify weak links in development of rice mechanization in hilly and mountainous areas．Problems in rice whole process mechanization production, key technologies of agricultural machinery and equipment, integration of agricultural machinery and techniques, and development of equipment industry in hilly and mountainous areas were analyzed to provide references for promoting technological progress, transformation and upgrading of rice mechanization equipment and rice whole process mechanization level in hilly and mountainous areas．
